Job Description:
Prospero Teaching is seeking individuals interested in a career as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. Prior experience working with children or supporting adults with additional needs is preferred, but candidates with no experience who have a strong desire to start are also encouraged to apply.
We work closely with schools supporting students with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language difficulties, and social, emotional & mental health challenges.
Teaching assistants will support students aged 5-16 throughout their academic day, either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
The role involves:
* Providing tailored support to children with SEMH and SEN
* Creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment
* Academic support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
* Assisting teachers
The ideal candidate:
* Teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN, either voluntarily or professionally
* Experience working with children in youth settings, scouts, guides, sports coaching, etc.
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Temporary with potential for permanent roles
Minimum Daily Rate: GBP 85
Hours: Term-time only, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
