Salary: £24,413 per annum pro rata (£12.66 per hour) - with additional enhancements for weekend work.

About the role:
If you have a passion for providing quality meals for vulnerable people, you will find your greatness working for Central Bedfordshire Council in the Care and Support Services. In the Older People's services, nutrition and hydration are vitally important for our customers' wellbeing - you could make a positive impact on their lives.
Every day at our services is different, with each person having a unique story and needs. You'll join our friendly team in this setting. Your main tasks will include assisting the cook in charge with meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and work areas, washing equipment, setting up dining areas, serving meals, and clearing up afterward.
It will be your responsibility to keep dining areas clean and presentable, including wiping tables, ensuring tablecloths are tidy, and sweeping and mopping floors.
No formal qualifications are required to apply; enthusiasm for the role is key. A basic understanding of food hygiene practices is needed, and you should be willing to work towards a level 2 certificate in Basic Food Hygiene if you don't already have one. Support and training will be provided to help you gain additional knowledge about nutritious meal provision for older adults.
You will be part of a wider team working towards the goal of providing excellent care and support.
