This is a permanent, part-time role based in Whiltland, Carmarthenshire, offering 10 hours per week (currently on a Tuesday and Thursday, 10am-3pm; hours to be discussed at interview).
Salary: an hourly rate starting from £12.50 with enhanced rates for overtime and annual pay reviews/rises.
We provide comprehensive training for you to excel as a Support Worker. You will join our Community Service team.
Responsibilities
* Support with 1:1 community work for a deafblind individual with sensory loss, helping them remain independent and enjoying community activities.
* Assist with a variety of community tasks and everyday activities as needed (e.g., cooking, cleaning, finances, appointments, social activities).
* Provide a customised, responsive, high-quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments and disabilities.
* Attend training as needed to support your role.
Qualifications and Requirements
* BSL proficiency is a requirement for this role.
* Full UK driving license with use of your own vehicle and business insurance is required.
* Knowledge of multi-sensory impairments/learning difficulties is beneficial.
* Positive, caring, empathetic, and able to communicate effectively with individuals in their home environment.
