Overview

Teaching Roles – SEMH Provision

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) challenges? We’re looking for proactive, enthusiastic, and highly motivated teaching staff to join one of our partner schools, which is a trauma-informed independent school with an attached alternative provision. They support children through bespoke, small-group and 1:1 academic and therapeutic interventions. Their approach is rooted in understanding trauma and individual need.


Requirements

* Qualified Teachers (QTS preferred) or Unqualified teachers with substantial experience
* ECTs with a strong SEN/SEMH background
* Candidates with relevant degrees in education, teaching, or related fields
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH, and challenging behaviour or lived experience
* Confidence in managing behaviour and building positive relationships using a trauma-informed approach


Key Responsibilities

* Create and deliver personalised learning pathways aligned with the school’s curriculum
* Use trauma-informed strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
* Establish clear expectations, boundaries, and routines in line with the school’s behaviour policy
* Promote inclusion, equality, and emotional wellbeing across the school
* Maintain open and effective communication with leadership, colleagues, and families


Working Hours & Flexibility

* 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
* Core hours on site are 9:00am to 3:00pm, plus any scheduled staff meetings or compulsory training
* Remaining contracted hours can be worked from home, subject to satisfactory performance

Top Pay Bracket

To be considered for the top of the pay bracket, applicants must have extensive experience in planning and teaching pupils with SEN/SEMH/Challenging behaviour.
