Are you passionate about preventing homelessness and increasing access to accommodation in the private rented sector for households in housing need? We are looking for a dedicated Private Sector Options Officer to join our team. In this role, you will support the Private Sector Options Manager in managing tenancies effectively, ensuring a person-centred, preventative approach. Responsibilities include mediation with landlords and tenants, enforcement actions, and managing a property portfolio.
This position involves managing tenancy lifecycle, arrears recovery, ASB management, void properties, and property and tenancy management. You will also identify improvements to keep the Council's housing offer competitive. We offer tailored training to develop your skills, whether you're new or experienced.
About the role:
* Tenancy Management & Homelessness Prevention: Manage tenancy lifecycles, mediate with landlords and tenants, identify breaches, and take enforcement/legal action. Collaborate with households and agencies to prevent homelessness and find lasting solutions.
* Property Portfolio Management: Oversee management of tenancies, arrears, ASB, and void properties across the portfolio.
* Landlord Engagement: Build partnerships with private landlords, providing support and advice to ensure high standards and statutory compliance.
* Financial & Housing Solutions: Conduct financial assessments, analyze income/expenditure data, and support households in finding permanent housing through creative solutions.
