About the Job you are considering: We are seeking an experienced Camunda Architect with strong expertise in the banking domain who will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects.
Hybrid working: The places you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home, noting that you will be unable to work from home 100% of the time.
Your Role: The Camunda Architect will be responsible for designing, governing and evolving the enterprise-wide Camunda workflow and process orchestration platform. This role requires deep expertise in Camunda BPM platform engineering, integration patterns, and scalable architecture practices. The architect will partner with engineering, product, and enterprise teams to ensure a robust, secure and efficient automation platform.
Responsibilities
* Architecture: Design the overall Camunda platform architecture and integration patterns, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards. Define technical standards, guardrails and best practices for workflow automation. Create reference architectures for common process orchestration patterns.
* Evaluation & Governance: Evaluate and select platform components and tools to support automation capabilities. Review complex implementations for architectural compliance and quality. Plan for platform evolution, scalability and technology upgrades. Ensure the Camunda platform meets essential non-functional requirements including scalability, security, performance, and resilience.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Owners, Platform Engineering and domain teams to guide adoption. Provide architecture stewardship and mentorship to engineering teams.
* Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a Camunda Architect/Senior Camunda Engineer. Strong knowledge of BPMN, DMN, workflow automation, microservices and event-driven architectures. Expertise in designing high-availability workflow platforms. Strong understanding of integration patterns (REST, messaging, APIs). Experience with platform engineering, cloud technologies, CI/CD and DevOps tooling. Ability to write architectural documentation, diagrams and standards. Strong stakeholder communication and leadership skills.
* Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Kubernetes, containerized workloads and cloud deployments. Background in Java engineering or similar backend technologies. Experience operating within large regulated enterprises (e.g., financial services). Experience in Solution Architecture.
* Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to influence engineering teams and drive platform-wide adoption. Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
