People Advisor
We are currently on the search for a new People Advisor to join our growing team in Accrington.
You will provide comprehensive HR support and advice on day-to-day basis and contributing to the long term development of the HR function. To operate in accordance with company policies and procedures taking account of the Company’s legal obligations and commercial requirement. You will also:
1. Alert line managers of trigger points reached in accordance with company policies and procedures.
2. Manage casework relating to long term sickness absence. To include making recommendations, giving advice and support to managers and liaison with occupational health providers as required.
3. Provide support and guidance in relation to company policies and procedures to ensure line manager and employees understand their obligations and the expectations of the business.
4. Compile letters and entering associated data onto the HR database.
5. Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships within geographical area of responsibility.
6. Deal with issues raised by employees (directly or indirectly by referral from the National HR Manager or authorised deputy).
7. Working closely with the L&D function to co-ordinate training requirements of employees.
8. Carry out any other reasonable ad hoc duties or requests in order to support the HR department commensurate with the post.
9. Attend Employment Tribunals as and when required
Who are we looking for?
First of all, we need a true people person, with experience of working in a similar role. You have to love working with people! We want someone with patience, tactfulness, diplomacy skills and someone that is approachable. Preferably we would want someone with or working towards a CIPD qualification or with qualification through experience.

13. Be confident about gathering facts and statistics and making financial calculations for planning and other uses.
14. Respect the importance of confidentiality.
15. Have good organising skills and be able to develop plans, forecasts and make recommendations for policies.
16. Have problem solving skills to deal with disputes, grievances and staff problems.
17. Be able to work as part of a team.
18. Work with accuracy and excellent attention to detail, looking at wider implications of decisions.
19. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft packages
