Our client is a well-established and trusted law firm with offices across Devon is seeking an experienced Wills & Probate Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its growing Private Client team. With a strong reputation for delivering clear, practical legal advice and a client-first approach, the firm offers a supportive and collaborative working culture.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for a confident and technically strong private client professional to manage a varied caseload independently while providing exceptional support to clients during sensitive and important life events.
The Role:
The successful candidate will join the Private Client department and take responsibility for a broad range of matters, including Wills, Probate, and Court of Protection work. The role requires excellent client care, strong drafting skills, and the ability to manage files efficiently from instruction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties will include (but will not be limited to):
* Drafting complex Wills and Trusts
* Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
* Managing Probate matters and full estate administration
* Handling Court of Protection applications
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships through outstanding client care
* Working independently whilst contributing positively to the wider team
* Occasional travel to branch offices as required
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
* Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5+ years PQE
* Strong technical knowledge and experience in private client law
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable:
* Experience in Court of Protection work
* Experience managing financial affairs for vulnerable clients
