Job Summary: We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Fleet Manager. The Fleet Manager is the Companys senior engineering expert, responsible for the management of all technical and maintenance aspects of the fleet, adhering to Traffic Commissioner / DVSA Compliance standards and Industry best practice. A member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) ensuring that Safety and Quality standards are maintained across all aspects of the engineering function including the interface with external contactors. Key Responsibilities: Safety Lead : Drive a safety-first culture. Leadership Interface: Collaborate with site leadership and other colleagues across the business to deliver strong service performance and ensure fleet availability and service readiness. Workshop Efficiencies: Manage the effective and efficient operation of the workshops inc performance-cost-time considerations. Liaise with the tasking team to ensure the fleet plan is within agreed parameters, to ensure achievable, cost effective and compliant. Fleet Management: Lead on Configuration and Obsolescence management, providing technical and quality input. Compliance Oversight: Ensure oversight of compliance activities, including monthly checks and auditing, to maintain the highest standards of operational integrity. Support the compliance Manager in incident investigations, H&S and COSHH Third-Party Contractor Management: Manage third-party contractors, including conducting regular documented review meetings to ensure service quality and compliance. KPIs: Monitor, challenge and improve fleet KPIs. ILS: Support delivery of Integrated Logistic Support. Parts planning & supply : Review stock levels, analysing and reporting trends. Conduct regular audits. CPD : Responsible for the development and periodic updating of technical training and CPD programmes for all Maintainers and apprentices Benefits: Auto Enrolment Company Pension Life insurance Private Health Care 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays On-site parking Essential Skills & Experience: Previous experience in fleet management or maintenance environment Strong technical ability to identify and evaluate technical issues, potential risks, and develop solutions. Knowledge and understanding of relevant transport regulations (WTD, operator's licence requirements) Hold a general certificate in Management. Hold a NEBOSH /IOSH General Certificate or equivalent. Experience of Quality Assurance processes and plans IT proficient including Microsoft Office. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills SC clearance necessary (application provided if not held) Desirable Skills & Experience: Previous Military fleet management Qualified in engineering discipline; C&G, HNC, HND, or higher. COSHH management qualification Skilled in Transport Management system or similar German language skills Job Types : Full-time, Permanent Working Pattern: Monday to Friday Expected hours: 40 per week.
