Full time position available, fixed term for 12 months based within the medical department of Withybush General Hospital. The post holder may be required to travel to other Health Board Sites as required. The post is suitable for a Core to Specialist Trainee from any clinical discipline or a clinician who is VTS trained. This post is ideal for those who wish to pursue a clinical career but have a keen interest in Medical Education. The applicant will be able to spend up to two sessions per week towards their clinical training. The post has been established to enhance the educational experience of Medical Students and Resident Doctors in Hywel Dda Health Board and to support our Medical Education strategy. The post holder will provide teaching and educational services to both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education. The Teaching Residents will work closely with Medical Education leads and administrators to support the programme of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education in Withybush General Hospital
Main duties of the job
Delivering ward and classroom based teaching for Medical and Physician Associate Students and support for their learning needs, such as history examinations and case based discussions. Facilitating Undergraduate Medical Student tutorials and teaching sessions as per the requirement of the C21 curriculum for Cardiff University. Delivering ward and classroom based teaching for Resident Doctors, undertaking workplace based assessments for Resident Doctors as required.
Providing opportunities for Students to practice clinical skills with constructive and structured feedback.
To provide key support for Medical and Physician Associate Students and Resident Doctors.
The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Skills and Simulation Tutor to in the provision of simulation-based learning events (both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and in the delivery of multi- professional training)

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* Post graduate college exams (e.g. MRCS or MRCP)
* Completed LVTS training or IMT training
Experience
* Completion of the UK Foundation Programme.
* Commitment to team approach and multi-disciplinary working
* Experience in working in Medical or Surgical specialties
Medical Education
* Proven interest in teaching undergraduate Medical Student and/or Resident Doctors.
* Displays an enthusiasm for teaching.
* Experience of UK Medical School Curricula & Training
Professionalism
* Consistently behaves in a professional manner as dictated by the GMC in 'Good Medical Practice' 2014
