We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, professional and motivated band 6 children’s nurse to join our team. Significant post‑registration experience is essential for this post.
The ward consists of 16 beds/cots and cares for children with varying medical, surgical, ENT and orthopaedic conditions. Specialist services for cystic fibrosis, sickle cell and diabetes are also available.

Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality, individualised care to children aged 0‑16 years.
* Assist the ward sister in leading the nursing team and deputise in their absence.
* Monitor standards of care and take appropriate action to maintain and improve patient outcomes.
* Act as a mentor, teaching and supervising student nurses and junior staff nurses.
* Respond to children’s and their families’ concerns and respond accordingly.
* Employ effective communication skills with children, families and the multidisciplinary team.
