Responsibilities
* Provide dietetic input into paediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including 1:1 and group clinics.
* Deliver paediatric dietetic outpatient clinics, including special school clinics for children with complex feeding difficulties.
* Plan and prioritise own workload as an autonomous practitioner.
* Collect and analyse relevant data and recommend dietetic care within the caseload.
* Translate and communicate disease states and diet to patients and carers so that it is understandable and empowering, using counselling, motivational and negotiation skills.
* Communicate patient management to all relevant health professionals and carers.
* Work as part of the multidisciplinary team, liaise with other professionals and attend meetings and case conferences.
* Advise catering services on special diets and menu planning.
* Maintain the service to meet department standards in accordance with the available evidence.
* Undertake additional training as required to meet the needs of the post.
* Have an active involvement in student training.
* Deliver services in a flexible manner with regard to working hours and locations.
