• To assist with the delivery and development of youth work provision within the policies of Lambhill Stables. • The primary responsibilities of a Youth Worker are to provide guidance and support to children and young people and to help them reach their full potential. • By doing so your duties will include but are not limited to - • Building trust and respect with the children and young people to help develop a lasting relationship with Lambhill Stables • Understand the community you work within, including the barriers faced by those who live there. • To be accountable and responsible for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post outlined in Lambhill Stables’ Equal Opportunities policy. • To participate in regular performance reviews, undertake training courses appropriate to your role. • To encourage youth led ideas and active participation in the delivery of sessions. • To be aware of and implement Health and Safety; Child Protection and all organisational policies and procedures. • Aid in the delivery of programs built for the purpose of NEET young people and aid in employability or further education opportunities. • Youth Work is Face to Face, and we work closely with our community members to ensure we are a safe and healthy environment for those who come to us. Key Skills/Experiences Essential/Desirable Recent experience of working and/or volunteering face to face with young people with the ability to use a variety of methods to engage young people in youth work activities E Ability to develop session plans, recognising the current needs of young people you engage with and the ability to relate to communicate with, encourage and motivate young people to form positive relationships E Ability to monitor, review and evaluate your work with young people E Ability to work independently and within a team to effectively deliver youth work programmes. E Understand and apply the principles of confidentiality and perform your duties with integrity, understand and demonstrate a willingness to promote positively the ethos of equal opportunities without discrimination or personal beliefs. E Commitment to personal and professional training opportunities E Be available for agreed hours of work to include three evenings and occasional weekends, with a level of flexibility E Hold current certificate in Child Protection Awareness D Hold/working towards or willing to work towards a Personal Development Award (SCQF Level 6) in Youth Work, to be achieved within 12 months of commencing in post D Experience in delivering Youth Work Awards such as: DofE; John Muir Awards; Hi5 Awards; Dynamic Youth Awards; Saltire and or Youth Achievement Awards. D Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work (in the context of youth work); Child Protection Policies; and Youth Work Outcomes D Knowledge of issues current and relevant to children and young people. D Driving License / Minibus license category D1 D HOURS: 21 hours per week (extension available dependant on funding) Part-Time, fixed to March 2029
