Trainee Production Operative – Speciality Fuels Industry
We’re working with a specialist fuel blending facility that’s seeking a motivated Trainee Production Operative to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to launch or build your career in a unique and technical manufacturing environment supplying the automotive, aerospace, and motorsport sectors. You’ll be part of a collaborative production team, working to execute blending operations and support daily site activities while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
About The Role
As a Trainee Production Operative, you’ll work across a variety of site operations – from managing tanker deliveries to executing blending plans and maintaining site housekeeping. You’ll be trained to handle plant machinery, follow precise operating procedures, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and safety. This hands-on role offers shift-based working and the chance to develop expertise in a niche, regulated production environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Execute blending and product movement operations according to daily schedules
2. Support safe and efficient tanker receipts, despatches, and decanting activities
3. Maintain housekeeping and waste handling standards across the site
4. Care for equipment and follow maintenance routines using MRS systems
5. Assist in emergency response duties and act as a fire marshal (training provided)
6. Communicate with your team to troubleshoot blending issues and suggest improvements
7. Translate written work instructions into practical operational tasks
What We’re Looking For
1. Good literacy and numeracy skills to follow detailed instructions
2. Ability to work with physical demands in a shift-based role
3. A practical, hands-on attitude with a focus on problem-solving
4. Strong team player who builds respectful working relationships
5. Enthusiastic, reliable, and able to stay calm under pressure
6. Willingness to learn and grow in a technical manufacturing setting
7. Previous experience in production or with stock management systems is an advantage, but not essential — full training will be provided.
Salary, Benefits & Location
* Salary: £37,750 per annum (shift allowance included)
* Shifts: Rotating 3-weekly pattern
* Earlies: 5:00am – 1:30pm
* Lates: 1:00pm – 9:30pm
* Nights: 9:00pm – 5:30am
* Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
* Bonus: 10% discretionary annual bonus

* Pension: Matched contributions up to 6%
