Role Overview
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels by analyzing sales data and forecasting demand accurately. This role requires confidence with numbers and data, experience in raising purchase orders for new SKUs and replenishment stock, and a good understanding of working with external suppliers and managing the purchasing aspects of the supply chain.
Core Responsibilities
* Manage all product purchasing for The Koin Club, ensuring optimal inventory levels
* Approve purchase orders and coordinate with external suppliers to ensure timely stock delivery
* Collaborate with suppliers on new products and expanding product ranges
* Negotiate pricing and minimum order quantities (MoQs)
* Work with Marketing and Sales to gather forecast requirements for new items
* Use sales data to forecast stock replenishment needs accurately
* Identify slow-moving stock and coordinate with sales channels
* Manage discontinued lines
* Report on KPIs related to inventory and stock levels
* Manage stock levels across multiple locations and warehouses
* Oversee subscription stock management
Key Skills and Experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or a similar role
* Line management experience (1 direct report)
* Strong analytical skills with a GCSE Grade B or above in Maths
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Highly organized
* Good commercial awareness
* Confident in dealing with suppliers
* Understanding of subscription models (desirable)
* Experience managing multiple warehouses (preferred)
