Full‑Time OB Guarantee Engineer (Sound) – Woking, Surrey – On‑Site (Immediate Start, published August 2025)
About the Role
The OB Guarantee Engineer is both an office‑based and an on‑site role, responsible for delivering on various OB projects. The role ensures smooth communication across each project between logistics, clients, crew, equipment and production through delivery. It oversees planning, logistics and ensures successful delivery for outside broadcasting of live sports, entertainment, music and commercial work.
Responsibilities
* Responsibility and oversight across technical aspects of assigned OBs, productions or projects
* Lead team members with planning, design, prep and implementation of projects
* Operate and guarantee on‑site OBs, off‑site or remote workflows
* Collaborate with the CTO and technical, production and engineering teams to document, draw up technical plans, configure and test technology, guaranteeing implementation on‑site
* Assist with design and build of project‑specific equipment configurations, racks and programming
* Maintain technical logs and systems documentation
* Develop new systems, software or hardware to streamline delivery, improve performance or achieve new goals
* Perform diagnostics and repairs on equipment, including maintaining the company’s galleries, fly‑aways and OB vehicles
* Research new technologies and methods for personal and professional development
* Attend and contribute to strategy, innovation and planning meetings
* Research the latest systems and workflows to increase operational efficiency
* Support other areas of the business and complete necessary paperwork
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is proactive and a team player with a solution‑oriented attitude, passion for innovative technology, learning and growth. The candidate is highly organised, methodical and attentive to detail, with strong interpersonal skills. A deep love for innovation, processes, systems, technology and delivering excellent service for clients is essential.
Knowledge spanning multiple OB specialisms such as sound, vision, comms, networking and power, with a focus on sound, comms and audio. The candidate should be currently working in a technical or guarantee role, looking to take the next step up, lead others and develop technologies within the company.
