Senior AMBA Architect • Arm
Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom; Sheffield, United Kingdom; Manchester, United Kingdom; Bristol, United Kingdom
Job Overview: We are looking for an AMBA Architect to help develop the next generation of Arm system architectures. You will work with experienced architects and engineering teams across Arm to define and improve interface specifications, analyze system behaviour, and support key product roadmaps and ecosystem partners. This role offers autonomy on well‑defined projects and opportunities to grow towards broader technical leadership.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the design and documentation of AMBA and related interfaces.
* Analyze performance, power, and scalability using models, simulations or benchmarks.
* Review designs and specifications with CPU, interconnect, memory, and SoC teams.
* Present clear recommendations and trade‑offs to project teams.
* Keep specifications, diagrams and guidelines accurate and easy to use.
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience with AMBA or similar on‑chip protocols (e.g., AXI or CHI).
* Knowledge of computer architecture, including memory systems, caches, and coherency.
* SoC or system‑level design, microarchitecture, or modeling experience.
* Familiarity with memory technologies such as DDR, LPDDR, HBM, or NVM.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills, including explaining design options and decisions.
* A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Nice To Have Skills and Experience
* Experience working with distributed teams.
* Experience with off‑chip interfaces such as PCIe or CXL and their interaction with on‑chip fabrics.
* Experience with system‑level modeling tools (e.g., SystemC, gem5, or similar).
