Responsibilities
* Rotate through core clinical ward specialties including medicine, surgery, admissions, paediatrics and mental health.
* Work within the Governance and High-Cost Drugs Team, contributing to the delivery of the workplan to ensure safe, effective and cost‑efficient medication use.
* Participate in the Emergency Duty Service and provide weekend and bank holiday coverage as per rota.
Qualifications and Training
The post is offered to a fully qualified pharmacist who will receive Band 7 salary. Candidates must meet the majority of the criteria and accept the condition of achieving a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical or Hospital Pharmacy during an 18‑month training and development programme commencing upon appointment.
During the training period:
* Months 1‑6: 70% of the top of Band 7 pay scale.
* Months 7‑18: 75% of the top of Band 7 pay scale.
Language Requirements
Welsh skills are desirable. A Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above spoken and listening proficiency in Welsh is preferred.

Salary and Pay Award
The 2026/27 Agenda for Change Pay Award is effective from 1 April 2026. Successful applicants with a start date from 1 April onwards will receive salary according to the 2026/27 pay award. During the 18‑month training period, salary will be paid under Annex 21 of the Terms and Conditions, at 70% of the top of the Band 7 scale for the first six months and 75% for the remaining period.
