Start Date: As soon as possible
A well-established, globally connected organisation is seeking an Interim Director of Finance & IT to provide leadership and stability during a critical period of digital transformation.
This is a hands-on role that combines strategic oversight with operational delivery, reporting directly to the CEO and supporting both the finance function and IT operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading an agreed IT transformation programme, including migrating core infrastructure (file servers, CRM, and accounting systems) to the cloud, while ensuring the organisation’s day-to-day operations continue to run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the finance function and IT infrastructure.
* Oversee the delivery of an IT transformation project, including cloud migration using Microsoft ecosystems (365, Dynamics, Azure).
* Manage financial reporting, risk registers, compliance, budgeting, and KPI dashboards.
* Lead a small finance team and manage relationships with key external suppliers, including IT and legal.
* Support the CEO, including attendance at board meetings and acting as representative on finance-related matters.
* Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA preferred) with substantial post-qualification experience.
* Proven track record in finance leadership, ideally with experience in both large corporate and small/charity settings.
* Experience in delivering complex IT transformation projects and managing accounting system migrations.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile).
* Strong commercial acumen, supplier management, and risk handling capabilities.
* Background in the UK charity or non-profit sector.
* Experience with property and lease management.
* Understanding of government grant administration and fundraising processes.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Business Central and Power BI.
Personal Attributes:
* Strategic thinker with a practical, hands-on approach.
* Excellent communicator and trusted advisor to senior leadership.
* High levels of integrity, discretion, and adaptability.
* Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
This is a unique opportunity for a commercially-minded finance leader with strong IT acumen to join a forward-thinking organisation and make a tangible impact. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, proactive, and collaborative, with a genuine interest in supporting the broader charitable mission of the organisation.
