About The Role
The role involves working on an experimental study and computational solid mechanics model of soft materials with application to renewable and wave energy converters. The successful candidate will contribute to the UKRI‑funded project Mor-Neidr, focusing on developing experimentally‑validated computational models for soft polymers (viscoelastic and viscoplastic). Responsibilities include carrying out independent research, developing new experimental set‑ups, and integrating software for the solids mechanics side of the project under the guidance of the Principal Investigators and collaborators. Minor experience with mechanical design is an advantage, and the researcher will collaborate closely with colleagues designing soft energy harvesters.
