The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled DT and Food Teacher to join our team from January 2026 or ASAP. The successful candidate will teach Design & Technology and Food across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering creativity, practical skills, and critical thinking in all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging DT and Food lessons in line with the school curriculum.
Assess, track, and support student progress through regular feedback and differentiated learning strategies.
Develop innovative teaching materials, including project-based learning and practical workshops.
Promote safe and effective use of equipment and materials in practical lessons.
Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and independent learning among students.
Support extra-curricular activities related to DT and Food where appropriate.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental development.
Person Specification:
Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology and Food.
Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students.
Passionate about practical learning and inspiring student creativity.
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
