Purpose of the role
We are looking for a Supervisor to be based at our Bescot depot, WS1 4NL on a 6 month FTC. The role requires practical experience in highways maintenance and commercial management, key knowledge and people‑management experience, and the ability to lead high‑performing teams.
Main Responsibilities
As a Supervisor, you will lead and support the delivery team, ensuring operations run efficiently and safely. Responsibilities include:
* Providing clear leadership, motivation, and direction.
* Managing and utilising company resources through careful planning and collaboration with colleagues and clients.
* Ensuring all personnel comply with company procedures and safety standards, maintaining a focus on health, safety and quality.
* Supporting staff development, identifying training needs and encouraging continuous improvement.
* Assisting with discipline and compliance, managing job packs, identifying risks, and mitigating hazards.
* Involved in winter maintenance planning, call‑out rota management, and investigations as required.
* Acting as a key point of contact for clients, managing relationships and key stakeholders.
* Coordinating workforce to ensure efficient delivery of works, driving team performance and maintaining high standards.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a highways background. Knowledge of highways legislation (Road Traffic Act, DMRB, TSRGD) and financial control and budget reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook is essential; confirm software experience is advantageous.
Package Description
* Salary £40,000-£45,000 (PRO RATA for 6 months)
