Early Career Teacher (Geography) Contract Type: Full-time Permanent Work Start Date: 01/09/2026 Location: Enfield, North London Salary: £37,870 per annum Hours of Work: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Salary will be paid at M1 in line with the Outer London Main Pay Scale and is suitable for an Early Career Teacher beginning their teaching career. About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of an Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Enfield for an Early Career Teacher (Geography). This full-time, permanent role starting September 2026 offers an excellent opportunity for an ECT to begin their teaching career within a supportive and collaborative school environment. The successful candidate will join a thriving Humanities department, teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 and helping students develop an understanding of physical and human geography, environmental issues, and global development. The school promotes curiosity, critical thinking and real-world learning, making it an ideal setting for a new teacher to grow and inspire young learners. Requirements To be eligible for this role and the stated salary, applicants must have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be currently completing teacher training • A degree in Geography or a related subject • Experience teaching Geography during PGCE or teacher training placements • Strong communication and organisational skills • A genuine passion for teaching Geography and inspiring young learners • Availability to commit to the role on a full-time, permanent basis Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Geography • Differentiate lessons to support a range of abilities and learning styles • Monitor student progress through effective assessment and feedback ECT Development • Participate in the ECT induction programme, including mentoring and CPD • Work with experienced colleagues to develop strong classroom practice Student Support • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement • Encourage curiosity and discussion around global and environmental topics Wider School Contribution • Attend department meetings, CPD sessions and parents’ evenings • Contribute to Humanities enrichment activities and the wider school community The Ideal Candidate Will • Be passionate, motivated, and committed to inclusive education • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills • Be creative, adaptable, and enthusiastic about Geography • Be eager to learn and develop as part of a supportive ECT programme • Show a commitment to continuous professional development What the School Can Offer • An Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school environment • A welcoming and collaborative Humanities department • A structured ECT induction programme with mentoring and CPD • Engaged and motivated students who enjoy learning • Opportunities to develop professionally and build a successful teaching career Why work via Teach Now?
