Your new role
Here at Hitachi Rail we have a unique opportunity for an experienced AP and AR Supervisor with strong people management skills to join our team based from our main UK factory in Newton Aycliffe. We are looking for candidates ideally with both AP and AR experience however we will consider strong backgrounds in either area as long as strong people management skills are evident. This will be on a 2 year fixed term contract basis.
As the AP and AR Supervisor you will be responsible for the effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations in relation to P2P and billing process as well as day to day management of a team of administrators.
Specific responsibilities will include:
1. Responsible for Administrator objective setting in support of business KPI’s
2. Manage Month End Reporting
3. Manage half/year end activity
4. Manage team processing performance
5. Responsible for Payment Run Proposal
6. Manage all elements of supplier/Customer accounts, including:
Set up and maintain supplier/Customer account master
Organise reconciliation of supplier statements, research and correct discrepancies
Reconcile processed work by verifying entries
Carry out monthly reconciliation of supplier account and solve outstanding transactions
7. Responsible for resolving more complex issues with all major stakeholders within the P2P and Order to Cash processes
8. Manage the yearly housekeeping activity within the P2P process
9. Support with periodic audit requirement ensuring Jsox compliance
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company audit policy and accepted accounting practices
10. Provide technical guidance and support to other accounting stuff
11. Ad-hoc duties to support the finance department as required
About you
Essential Requirements
12. Previous experience of AP and/or AR with ERP Systems
13. Detail oriented, professional attitude and reliable
14. Possess strong organizational and time management skills
15. Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable and or account receivable/general ledger systems and procedures
16. A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
17. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
18. Experience of day-to-day management of a small/medium size team
19. KPI/SLA Management
20. Commitment to working as part of a team

21. Experience of working within a global company
22. Experience of Power Bi
