An iconic British business—home to a wide range of category-leading brands—is looking for a strategic and commercially savvy Head of Category & Insights. This is a critical role, reporting into senior leadership and shaping the commercial and category agenda across retail channels.
The Role:
As Head of Category & Insights, you will lead a small team of high-performing Category and Insight professionals, using data and shopper intelligence to influence strategic decisions and deliver compelling category growth stories both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Category & Insights function, managing a team across category and commercial insight roles.
* Develop and deliver customer-specific strategies that unlock growth opportunities for the category and brands.
* Be the expert on market dynamics, shopper behaviour, and competitive activity—turning insight into action.
* Partner with Sales, Marketing, and NPD teams to inform innovation, range, and activation strategies.
* Build strong, trust-based relationships with key UK retail customers—becoming a go-to advisor on category performance.
* Drive thought leadership in category management and champion a culture of data-driven decision making.
What You’ll Bring:
* Extensive experience in a senior Category or Insight role within FMCG, ideally food or snacking.
* Deep knowledge of UK retail and shopper dynamics.
* Commercial acumen and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong leadership capability and experience managing and developing teams.
* Excellent storytelling and communication skills—turning complex data into clear, compelling narratives.
