On behalf of the MOD, we are seeking an Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 10-month contract based in Bristol, working 3 days per week on-site.

Due to the short-term nature of this role and the urgency of placement, candidates must meet all essential criteria and hold active security clearance, with DV/SC clearance being an essential requirement. Candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo security checks.
The main responsibilities of an Infrastructure Operations Engineer include:
1. Developing new applications and server services.
2. Ensuring servers are fully patched and updated (hardware and software).
3. Adding new services to backup and restoration plans.
4. Ensuring services comply with relevant regulations and legislation.
5. Transitioning new server services into Operations.
Essential skills and experience:
* Building, configuring, and deploying new servers in complex environments.
* Providing service desk support, including desk-side and remote assistance.
* Troubleshooting end-user IT issues and resolving incidents.
* Installing, upgrading software, and performing regular maintenance following release management processes.
* Monitoring diagnostic displays and escalating issues as needed.
* Resolving incidents/support tickets efficiently, adhering to support standards.
* Following escalation procedures in Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
Technical requirements include:
* Windows Server 2022, Windows 10, Office 2016
* Virtualisation experience with VMWare Horizon and VCF migration
This role is limited to the UK and cannot be performed overseas.
