Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the overall operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education. This role involves overseeing daily activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a nurturing environment for children. The Deputy Manager will work closely with staff, parents, and children to promote a positive and engaging atmosphere.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Manager in the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained.
* Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
* Develop and implement engaging educational programmes that cater to the needs of children aged 0-5 years.
* Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and wellbeing.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and Ofsted requirements.
* Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth among staff.
* Manage administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting, and resource allocation as required.
* Drive initiatives to improve the quality of care and education within the nursery setting.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a managerial role within a childcare or nursery setting is essential.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Experience working with children in an educational or childcare capacity is required.
* A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with staff, parents, and children.
* A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel as needed for nursery activities or events.
