Overview
Our Administrators provide first line contact to people who call us and offer comprehensive, professional, and effective administrative support to the Mid Essex Talking Therapies Team. The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and, as such, this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020. It will be necessary to submit for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Mid Essex Talking Therapies admin team. You will be able to work well within a team, manage and prioritise workload, and work on your own initiative with minimal supervision. This is a busy and varied role, so good interpersonal skills are required. Some work involves speaking to service users on the telephone, so you must demonstrate tact, mature judgement, and maintain a calm, friendly, and efficient manner. The right person will be able to work with autonomy and apply a high degree of confidentiality to all work.
To be highly skilled and experienced in the full range of administration practices, software programmes, and specialised terms. Proficiency in MS Office and Electronic Patient Records is required. Responsibilities include processing new assessment referrals, booking assessments before the breach date, and entering appointments in the electronic patient record. You may attend meetings and take minutes, including preparing the agenda and uploading notes. You should be proficient in using the electronic patient record for administrative purposes, and assist other admin team members with tasks such as scanning, photocopying, answering the telephone, etc. You should update skills as necessary and attend mandatory training. You will work unsupervised on a daily basis, prioritising your own workload and using initiative to distinguish routine from urgent tasks. You will follow agreed guidelines and use developed knowledge and qualifications when working autonomously.
Responsibilities

Essential requirements
* Audio typing
* Competence in Windows and Word applications
* Good general education
* Understanding of confidentiality
Desirable criteria
* ECDL
* Familiar with medical terminology; 2 years experience in an office environment
* Experience recording and typing up meeting minutes
* Experience working in the NHS; good knowledge of IT and Windows applications
* Good organisational abilities with strong time management
* Able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge and understanding of health records
