The Vacancy
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join our WPS team in the East Midlands area. Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing all pre and post contract strategies, managing commercial functions, and preparing contract reports.
As the PQS, you will work closely with two of our social housing partners on projects involving kitchens, bathrooms, electrical, and roofing works. Therefore, experience within the property services field is highly desirable.
Key Accountabilities include:
1. Contributing to project commercial strategies and managing your own subcontract packages.
2. Conducting site visits, measuring works required, and pricing scoping documents using the agreed schedule of rates.
3. Collaborating with the commercial and operations teams to procure work packages efficiently, including creating a procurement schedule.
4. Making informed decisions that prioritize profitability and identify opportunities for maximization.
To succeed in this role, you should be a qualified and experienced surveyor with a strong work ethic and effective communication skills. You should be capable of building and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders. Experience in social housing, working within a main contractor environment, and exposure to responsive or planned works are preferred.
