Job Description
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for driving efficiencies, managing costs, and regional performance for our clients. This role involves overseeing all financial aspects of projects, including commercial and contractual matters, to deliver desired margins through high standards of commercial acumen. You will also identify, record, and track risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage contract performance, including weekly P&L reporting.
* Review contract documents and mitigate issues.
* Control progress and cash flow forecast information.
* Manage commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs), and Project Finance Reports.
* Take responsibility for Subcontractor Management, including forecasting, raising orders, and negotiating terms.
* Prepare subcontract documents, enquiries, and assess quotations.
* Oversee subcontract orders, agreements, certification of valuations, invoices, payments, and final accounts.
* Manage change control processes, risks, and value management.
* Track project changes, variations, and notices.
* Assess and value variations and compensation events.
* Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications, and agree on final accounts.
* Participate in risk reviews, progress, and commercial meetings on-site with clients.
* Contribute to tenders and pricing strategies.
* Oversee credit control, cash recovery, and forecasting.
* Support operational teams in daily commercial and contractual activities.
Experience and Qualifications
* Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
* NEC4 experience is preferable.
* Experience in the Utilities industry is advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of contracts, especially NEC.
* Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills.
