For vacancies at denominational schools:
Evidence of Catholic Church Approval - Applicants must seek Catholic Church approval when submitting their application and provide a copy to the Chair of the Panel before the interview. If approval is pending, confirmation of submission will be sought from the Church Representative.
Denominational Primary Posts - Applicants must have the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate. Forms and further info are available at Scottish Catholic Education Service.
Denominational Secondary Posts - Applicants need RC approval for the specific school. Details are available at the same SCES website.
Responsibilities
This role is considered a regulated role with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential, and preferred applicants will be required to join or update their PVG scheme membership before an offer is made.
The employment is excepted from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions, including spent ones, as failure to do so could lead to dismissal or disciplinary action.
