Role: Training Coordinator – Electrical Installation

Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £30,915 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator in Electrical Installation to join our Apprenticeships department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Training Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

1. End‑to‑End Apprenticeship Coordination– Manage the full apprenticeship journey for Electrical Installation Level 3 learners, from initial assessment and induction through to training delivery, progress monitoring, review visits and completion.
2. Assessment, Coaching & Portfolio Development – Provide coaching and mentoring, conduct workplace assessments, set SMART targets, give high‑quality feedback and ensure learner evidence meets awarding‑body standards for knowledge, skills and behaviours.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance – Lead internal verification processes, maintain accurate assessment and audit records, stay up to date with apprenticeship funding rules, ensure evidence is stored correctly and contribute to IQA, standardisation and EQA activities.
4. Employer Engagement & Workplace Oversight – Liaise with employers to schedule reviews, provide progress updates, promote apprenticeship and commercial training, and monitor workplace Health & Safety, escalating concerns appropriately.
5. Team Collaboration, Safeguarding & Professional Conduct – Work effectively within the apprenticeship team, share good practice, uphold safeguarding, EDI, Health & Safety and college values, and undertake CPD and other duties as required.

About you:

6. Qualifications & Industry Requirements – GCSE‑level English and Maths (A–C / Level 2), Level 3 sector qualification, A1/TAQA Assessor award, plus AM2 and 18th Edition with up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standards and developments.
7. Workplace & Assessing Experience – Recent industry/commercial experience in the occupational area, with proven experience training, assessing and coordinating competence‑based apprenticeship programmes.
8. Programme Management & Administration – Strong organisational skills to manage caseloads, maintain accurate audit‑ready learner records, coordinate apprenticeship requirements and proactively drive timely learner progress.
9. Learner Engagement, Motivation & Communication – Ability to motivate apprentices, communicate effectively with learners, employers and stakeholders, deliver excellent customer service and identify new business opportunities.
10. Flexibility, Time Management & Travel – Flexible and proactive approach with strong time‑management skills and the ability to travel across a geographical area to meet learner, employer and programme needs.
