Job summary


We are recruiting for Nursing Associates who wish to join the Community Nursing Teams on the Isle of Wight. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care.

The Nursing Associate/will work alongside other practitioners in the Community Nursing team to provide high quality, efficient and effective care to patients, which works towards improving the lives of people on the Isle of Wight and delivering care in the patient's home. The team operate 7 days/week from and successful applicants may work at any of our 3 localities.

Main duties, tasks & skills required


The post holder will assume responsibility for delegated aspects of healthcare delivery, working within a scope of practice under the direction/supervision of a registered member of staff. The registered member of staff remains accountable for the appropriate and effective delegation of activities and ensuring that the Nursing Associate has the competency, confidence and expertise to carry out such activities. Having accepted the activity, the associate is accountable for their actions. In a situation where the associate feels they do not have the necessary skills or ability then they must alert the registered member of staff immediately. With the support of an agreed educational package tailored to meet needs of the individual and the service they will work within relevant legal and ethical frameworks and in accordance with organisational protocols and policies.

The Nursing Associate will be proficient, knowledgeable and competent. Educated to Foundation Degree level or equivalent accredited level 5 qualifications.

Qualifications



Essential

* Nursing Associate Qualification registered with the NMC


Desirable


Health & Social Care Foundation Degree or equivalent as required for post


Experience



Essential

* An awareness of risk management
* Significant experience of working in a relevant health or social care setting


Desirable

* Experience of working in the community


Additional Criteria



Essential

* Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder, e.g. car driver, lone working
* Car driver with clean licence
* Awareness of personal safety
* Demonstrate a range of technical and clinical skills and competencies appropriate to service needs
