A leading educational institution in South Wales, providing educational courses and qualifications. They are looking for an HR Advisor to join them on a 6-12 month fixed-term contract.
Your new role
1. Deliver aprehensive and professional HR advisory service across the Institution to various client groups.
2. Under the direction of the HR Business Partner, offer advice, guidance, and operational support on all facets of Human Resources Management.
3. Handle employee relations cases in line with Institution policies, procedures, and legal best practices, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and appeals under the relevant Institution procedure.
4. Facilitate and lead consultation and engagement activities with diverse stakeholders, including Trade Unions.
5. Assess, design, and develop job descriptions and job catalogues in collaboration with HR colleagues.
6. Collaborate with HR colleagues in Organisation and Staff Development to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of Institution staff by providing advice, support, and training in accordance with HR policies and practices.
7. Perform various administrative tasks to support work delivery.
8. Continuously review processes, practices, and guidance, identifying areas for improvement, and coordinate and deliver training through multiple channels.
9. Work together with HR Managers within the broader HR team to effectively implement Institution policies.
What you'll need to succeed
10. CIPD associate membership or higher
11. Proven long-term experience at the HR Advisor level or above
12. Generalist HR experience
13. A proactive mindset
14. Knowledge of HR best practice, policy and employment law
15. Experience managing ER cases
16. Excellent IT and systems skills
