We have an exciting opportunity for a NFL Academy Linebacker Coach to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Loughborough College.
The NFL Academy is a major global initiative by the NFL, offering talented student-athletes the opportunity to combine full-time education alongside intensive training in American Football, under the guidance of world class coaching staff.
In partnership with Loughborough College (US High School equivalent), and Loughborough University, our Elite Football Development Programme enrols student- athletes aged 16-18 years from around the world.
The NFL Academy integrates academic excellence, character development and top-tier American Football training, to create pathways for young athletes aiming to secure scholarships to advance within the sport.
Since its launch in the 2019-20 academic year, the NFL Academy has successfully placed over 50 student-athletes into NCAA programmes, including 35 signees over the 2023 - 2025 signing periods.
We are seeking to appoint an NFL Academy Linebacker Coach to provide a high-quality player development programme.
This role will include working within a multi-disciplinary team and will include working with players for a range of on and off-field activity. The role also includes preparing for, and attending, a range of fixtures, both in the UK and overseas and working with players to develop their onward recruitment pathway.
Responsibilities of this role include;
1. To coach all student-athletes at the Linebacker position in the Academy to a high standard
2. On-site coaching in games and practices, including organisation and implementation of daily practices
3. Collaborate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team of Performance Support, Academic and Welfare staff across all aspects of the Academy
4. Support student-athletes in their recruitment process to advance to higher education institutions with the awareness of NFL Academy KPI’s
What we are looking for;
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
6. Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
7. Extensive coaching experience in American Football
8. Demonstrated your ability to recruit, coach and develop players as part of a successful programme
9. The role will require flexible working patterns, with some evening/weekend work, as well as attendance at fixtures
