Phlebotomist or HCA Part Time (1 Year fixed Term)
Apply to work at NHS in the Rockwell and Wrose Practice in North Bradford. This part‑time, fixed‑term role (365 days) will begin in early October 2025 and cover a maternity leave.
Job Summary
20–25 hours per week between 8.30 am and 3 pm with some flexibility. You will provide phlebotomy and health‑care‑assistant duties in a busy GP surgery, supporting the practice nursing team and delivering patient care, education and preventive services.
Key Responsibilities
* Venepuncture and phlebotomy as instructed by doctors or senior nurses; complete lab request forms and enter data into the practice computer system (SS1).
* Take blood pressure, smoke‑cessation assessment, urine checks and other routine monitoring.
* Assist with NHS health checks, carer assessments and long‑term condition reviews.
* Stock control, infection‑control and waste management; order supplies for the practice and ensure rooms remain ready for use.
* Enter clinical data supporting QOF, PCN investment and local target achievement.
* Maintain high standards of confidentiality, data protection and IT troubleshooting.
* Attend practice meetings, training and risk‑management activities as required.
Qualifications & Experience
* GCSE English and maths, A–C.
* Qualified phlebotomist (certificate required) and 6 months experience as an HCA or phlebotomist in a GP setting.
* System One experience and knowledge of infection‑prevention policies.
* Desirable: NVQ level 2 in health and social care, ECG, general HCA experience.
Other Requirements
Enhanced DBS check and valid NHS pension scheme enrolment. Uniform and sick pay provided.
Working Pattern
Part‑time, fixed‑term contract, 20–25 hours per week, 8.30 am–3 pm.
