The post holder will work as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary Medical Equipment Management Service team to ensure the safe use of medical devices across the Trust.
The post holder will carry out acceptance testing, servicing, and repair of complex medical equipment and devices. They will participate in workshop rotas and maintain records of all completed work accurately and promptly on the equipment management IT system. The post holder may also undertake training to develop and upskill, as well as occasionally train clinical staff in the use of medical equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assess and maintain equipment and devices for use in healthcare services.
2. Evaluate new electrical/electronic equipment for clinical use.
3. Commission and accept new electronic/electrical equipment for clinical use, either in clinical areas or within MEMS.
4. Calibrate and verify electrical/electronic equipment in clinical settings.
5. Conduct complex fault finding and repairs on electrical/electronic equipment.
6. Handle and store equipment and consumables safely.
