Graduate Civil Engineer - Water - 2026 (Brighton)

We are seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our 2026 Graduate Programme based in Brighton. As a graduate, you will collaborate with your team and the wider Stantec community to deliver innovative solutions for high-profile clients, while developing your engineering expertise in a multidisciplinary and creative environment.

You will have the opportunity to work with some of the largest water clients in the industry and make a real difference in the communities we serve.

What You Will Do

* Solve engineering problems and support the delivery of water infrastructure projects.
* Use design software and tools such as ArcGIS to carry out engineering calculations and develop designs.
* Produce drawings, reports, and presentations.
* Undertake site visits to collect and collate data.

You will work within a friendly, collaborative project team and receive support and guidance from Senior and Principal Civil Engineers. You will also be assigned mentors to support your journey toward Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

To learn more about what we do, you can explore our Water business line and read the career journey of one of our Graduate Civil Engineers.

About You

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with your Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, we would love to hear from you if you are:

* An adapter: able to remain calm in new and changing situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic tasks.
* A perseverer: composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
* A collaborator: effective at working with diverse teams, considering different perspectives to shape better outcomes.
* A problem-solver: keen to share ideas based on evidence, unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

Workplace Attendance

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week to ensure colleagues can provide the appropriate level of support.

What We Can Offer You

* A competitive salary.
* Private medical insurance.
* A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance.
* A permanent employment contract, demonstrating our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec.
* A professional progression plan, supporting you to become chartered with ICE.
* A supportive, collaborative team environment, Early Careers peer community, and access to our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
