SEN Teaching Assistant

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 - 15:30

Reed Education are currently working alongside a fantastic primary school in Scunthorpe to recruit a specialist SEN teaching assistant to work across Key Stage 1. You will work with whole classes, groups and on a 1:1 basis to support children who have additional needs, SEMH needs or challenging behaviour. The aim is that this SEN Teaching Assistant will be able to support inclusion within the school and to support more children to reach expected standard in phonics screening and Year 2 SATs.
The headteacher is looking for a talented teaching assistant who has experience of working with children who have additional needs, SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or learning difficulties. Any experience working with autism, ADHD and those children with English as an additional language will be beneficial.
The role will begin in September 2025 and will be ongoing through the academic year. There may be a permanent position available.
Hours will be 08:30 - 15:30 and you will be paid a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with small groups of children and children on a 1:1 basis to support their learning and social/emotional development.
- Help to plan and lead a motivating curriculum to prepare learners for adulthood alongside another colleague.
