We are looking for Family Support Workers for a Residential Family Assessment Centre for an assessment unit in Cottingham, Yorkshire. This will be a busy and challenging role and therefore you will have commitment and dedication to providing high quality support to family and staff in line with OFSTED regulations. You will also be required to have excellent safeguarding standards and a strong ethos of providing effective support to families to achieve positive outcomes. As a Waking Night Family Support Worker you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide support to Parent & Child placements in a residential setting. This is a highly trusted role that will require sensitivity and excellent safeguarding awareness, to provide support to Parent & Child placements in a residential setting on a waking duty, monitoring the safety of families and CCTV throughout the night. The role will be part-time on a rolling shift pattern 20hours across 2 nights per week. Night shifts pattern is 10:00pm – 8.00am. There is expectation of flexibility to provide shift cover as required. Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements: Experience working within a Children’s Residential, Early Years, or Children’s Social Care setting would be an advantageous skill set. Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and understanding working with complex families. Good understanding of basic Microsoft IT packages and email. Ability to communicate effectively in complex or challenging situations with families. Ability to build relationships with service users maintaining professional boundaries. Provide a caring and nonjudgemental approach to individuals in a supporting role. Preferable Skills and Knowledge: Experience of partnership working with families and external agencies, preferably in a Safeguarding or Looked after Children’s Teams. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU: £24,960 - £25,584 per annum based on full time hours. NVQ level 3 training and qualification in Parent and Child Residential Care.
