Overview
Teledyne e2v in Chelmsford is the largest commercial employer in the City of Chelmsford, employing over 850 people in Essex. The site generates world-leading technology critical for humankind, including vital components for radiotherapy machines and imaging devices used in groundbreaking space missions.

Our Space Imaging business in Chelmsford provides high-performance CCD, Infrared, and CMOS sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high-energy physics applications.
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our manufacturing team, focusing on developing high-precision silicon assembly and supporting manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
* Develop new and improve existing Probe capabilities for testing CCD / CMOS Wafers
* Collaborate with Production Engineers to optimize DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
* Assist in developing and documenting procedures for new product prototyping
* Continuously improve manufacturing processes and work instructions in coordination with the production team
* Create SAP ME routings based on manufacturing flow diagrams
* Generate SAP BOMs and master data in collaboration with design, engineering, and procurement teams
* Ensure documentation is approved through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
* Manage and optimize operational workflows
* Support production trials and ensure proper documentation
* Adhere to existing NPI (New Product Introduction) processes
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have:
* Experience in Production/Manufacturing
* Experience developing manufacturing processes
* Experience in project manufacturing environments
* Strong problem-solving skills with proven results
* Ability to work effectively within a team
* Self-motivation and attention to detail
* HNC in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
Additional qualifications that are desirable:
* Experience in electronics product manufacturing
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
