The Vacancy
Calibrate, an RSK Group company, is recruiting for a Service Engineer to join the team based in Alnwick, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Calibrate Energy Engineering, part of RSK Group, supplies intelligent, hands-off commercial heating, chilling, and electricity-generating solutions to high energy-use industries. Calibrate’s mission is to rethink and reshape how energy is more economically used. Calibrate does this by reducing operational expenditure, providing an income stream, and creating a positive impact on clients' carbon profiles.
We seek a qualified and experienced Ground Source Heat Pump Engineer with expertise in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems. The candidate should have mechanical and electrical qualifications and be comfortable with field work, traveling approximately 75% of the time to customer sites (many within two hours of Northumberland).
Responsibilities:
1. Install, commission, and set up ground source heat pump systems and CHP units per company standards and client specifications.
2. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ground source heat pumps and CHP units, typically in the 500kW to 1MW range, with larger installations possible.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in systems.
4. Provide technical support and advice to clients on operation and maintenance.
5. Complete service reports, maintain records, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Qualified in both electrical and mechanical engineering.
2. Experience in installation, service, and maintenance of Ground Source Heat Pumps and CHP units.
3. Ability to diagnose and repair faults in mechanical and electrical systems.
4. Valid, clean UK driving license; company vehicle provided.
5. Effective communication skills with clients and colleagues.
