Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Dental Service, working as a Dental Receptionist.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact, operating a patient appointment system within a patient‑led service. Support smooth clinic operations, manage patient appointments, and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and health professionals.
Qualifications and Experience
Previous experience on a reception desk or as a first point of contact is essential. Experience with operating a patient appointment system is required. Working knowledge of dental payment, administration and booking systems is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Demonstrated ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure is required, as is a level of English language competency and communication skills necessary to perform this role safely and effectively.
Hours and Pay
As of 1 April 2026, the full‑time Agenda for Change working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week, with part‑time hours reduced pro‑rata. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will ensure pay is not affected. Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
