Salary: c£45k Basic doe. Working pattern: 9 day working fortnight (weekdays).
Responsibilities
* Design products from concept through to production release to a given specification, agreed timescales and to company Quality Management System (QMS).
* Work within a multi-disciplined development team environment and use initiative to achieve the project requirements.
* Create electrical schematic layout designs.
* Generate detailed technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, manuals, etc.).
* Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs.
* Reduce product costs by re‑designing existing products.
* Assist production/service engineers when requested.
* Collaborate fully with production engineering on new product launch.
* Design testing criteria.
* Produce ECNs for design updates or changes.
Qualifications
* Minimum HNC qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
* Proven electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Competent to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics and produce design calculations.
* Willingness to work hands‑on to assist fault‑finding on electrical systems.
* Knowledge of Electrical Design Software; ability to create/edit schematics and produce BOMs.
* Understanding of PLC systems.
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Highly motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
