Job Description
This is a fixed-term post until 31/03/2026.
We have a temporary vacancy for a Corporate Debt Assistant at our Church Street office or for homeworking.
The main purpose of the post is to collect Rent arrears, Council Tax arrears, Non-Domestic Rates arrears, and Sundry debt owed to the council.
The job involves conducting interviews with customers by telephone or in person to agree sustainable payment arrangements. The successful applicant will have experience dealing with the public in a similar environment. Previous experience in collecting council debts would be advantageous.
The work pattern for this post is: Monday - Thursday 8:45 am - 4:45 pm and Friday 8:45 am - 3:55 pm.
Requirements
The preferred candidate will be required to complete a Disclosure (Level 1) check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. Failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action if employed.
