Join to apply for the Maintenance Assistant role at Elysium Healthcare. Join Sturt House as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
You will be responsible for ensuring the service facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults, ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors. Working alongside an established team, you will undertake maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service. You will receive training and have opportunities for career development.
Location: Sturt's Ln, Walton on the Hill, Tadworth KT20 7RQ. You will be working at Sturt House, a recovery-focused unit providing specialist mental health treatment for males aged 18 and over.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
* Utilising DIY skills to ensure the safety of service users is maintained.
* Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
* Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
* Assisting in all decorating.
* Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
* Participating in a one-week on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
* Coordinating and supporting contractors on site and completing paperwork and tool checks.
* Maintaining the perimeter fencing around boundaries.
* Facilitating gardening groups with patients.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will
* Comply with systems and procedures.
* Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
* Have gardening experience.
* Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure high-quality service.
* Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
