A Personal Support Assistant is required to support a Visually impaired lady for 15 hours per week.
The hours can be fairly flexible to be discussed at interview level, usually 6 hours per day, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon, with a 2 hour break between 11.30-1.30 whilst the lady is at her work at the local school.
The lady requires support with food shopping, other shopping, doctors & hospital appointments, occasional domestic help and to take her to her social groups. Therefore, it isessential that the support assistant is a driver with access to a vehicle.
Please note that at the moment the lady does not have a Guide dog, but is on the waiting list for one, so the support assistant must be willing for the future guide dog be in their car at times! There are also cats in the home.
The rate of pay is £13.25 per hour plus a 45p per mile allowance (whilst the lady is in the car)
A DBS is required for this position
