PERMANENT - Social Services Complaints Officer – Powys County Council
Location: Llandrindod Wells, LD1 (Hybrid/flexible working)
Salary: £46,000 per year
Type: Permanent, 37 hours/week
Powys County Council is seeking a Social Services Complaints Officer to manage, investigate, and report complaints, representations, and compliments related to Children's and Adult Social Services. This is a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, improving service quality, and supporting both staff and service users.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of complaint handling within statutory timeframes.
Advise managers and mediate to resolve complaints effectively.
Maintain and update policies and procedures in line with Welsh Government guidance.
Ensure safeguarding considerations are applied throughout complaint investigations.
Support service improvement through reporting and feedback integration.
Requirements:
Experience in social services or social work.
Experience handling formal complaints.
Relevant degree or professional qualification; SCW/HCPC registration preferred.
Strong understanding of legislation including Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) 2014, Human Rights Act, Data Protection Act.
