Job Description

Legal Assistant

Location: Cardiff
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 35 hours, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
Start Date: ASAP

Do you have the organisation and attention to detail to make a real difference to vulnerable clients and support high-quality casework? At Redkite Solicitors, we’re seeking a proactive, compassionate and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our Court of Protection team in delivering exceptional client service and practical legal support.

As a key part of our Court of Protection team in Cardiff, you’ll work closely with Fee Earners to support the day-to-day management of matters effectively and efficiently. From assisting with client meetings to helping manage financial affairs and maintain accurate files, you’ll play a key role in supporting clients and helping deliver a responsive, high-quality service.

Redkite Solicitors has been trusted to provide exceptional legal advice to individuals, families, and businesses since 1898. As a progressive, full-service law firm, we’re driven by growth and innovation, continuously expanding our reach to meet the diverse needs of our clients. With nearly 300 dedicated professionals, we’re proud to be recognised as an employer of choice, with a number of our lawyers recognised in both Legal 500 and Chambers, reflecting the strength and quality of our expertise. Our ongoing commitment to excellence and expansion ensures Redkite remains at the forefront of the legal sector.

Candidates should be aware that their first day of employment may be based at an alternative Redkite office, for group onboarding. A willingness to travel and spend the day away from your usual place of work is therefore required.

What Will You Be Doing?

* Be the support behind every matter – help Fee Earners stay organised, manage workloads effectively, and deliver an excellent client experience from start to finish.

* Take ownership of case administration – open and manage files with precision, prepare documents, and keep records accurate, compliant, and up to date.

* Support vulnerable clients with care – assist with the management of financial affairs, ensuring matters are handled accurately, sensitively, and professionally.

* Keep legal work moving – draft correspondence, prepare supporting documentation, and carry out legal research to support day-to-day case progression.

* Keep communication flowing – liaise confidently with clients, third parties and colleagues to ensure queries, updates and next steps are handled promptly.

* Create a positive first impression – handle new client enquiries efficiently and warmly, ensuring every potential client receives a professional introduction to our services.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For:

* Organised and detail-oriented – you take pride in keeping correspondence, records and compliance processes accurate and well managed.
* Flexibility to travel - when required - this role requires access to a car when needed.

* A confident communicator – you build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and third parties through clear, professional and friendly communication.
* Proactive and motivated – you bring a can-do attitude, use your initiative and are happy to get stuck into a wide variety of tasks.
* Resourceful and solutions-focused – you can manage competing priorities, stay calm under pressure and keep work moving forward effectively.
* Strong IT skills – you’re confident using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel, and can pick up new systems quickly.
* Relevant experience or qualifications – a law degree or previous Court of Protection experience would be helpful, but isn’t essential.

Benefits

What’s In It For You?

We’re committed to creating a supportive, collaborative, and high-performing legal team. You’ll be joining colleagues who are not only legally excellent but also commercially astute and down-to-earth. We value trust, teamwork and excellence, and offer an environment where you can grow and succeed.

* A collaborative, friendly working environment with regular team connection days
* Generous annual leave (plus additional days with length of service)
* Option to buy or sell annual leave
* Life Assurance
* Redkite Rewards scheme
* Pension Scheme
* Contributions to gym membership
* Career development and learning support

... and much more
