Tradewind Recruitment are working with a fantastic secondary school in Brent seeking a Social Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026. This is a full‑time, long‑term position (Monday‑Friday, 8:00am‑4:00pm) – ideal for graduates passionate about social development, inclusion, and supporting students to thrive both academically and personally.
Social Science Graduate Teaching Assistant – Role Overview
* Support students with additional learning needs, such as autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
* Work closely with the SENCO, Pastoral Team, and external agencies to deliver targeted support and interventions.
* Provide one‑to‑one and small group assistance, helping students build confidence, social skills, and academic progress.
* Contribute to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment where every student can succeed.
* Encourage students' emotional wellbeing, resilience, and social awareness through positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches.
* Gain valuable, hands‑on experience relevant to careers in education, social care, youth work, or community development.
Requirements
* A recent Social Science graduate (e.g., Sociology, Criminology, Education Studies, Anthropology, Social Policy, or a related field).
* A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting those with additional needs.
* Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
